Since we didn't have a newborn or brand new business this summer, Dennis decided to take up triathlon again. He's quite talented at this three-part athletic endeavor and today he proved it again by placing second in the Lake Marion Triathlon! He had a wonderful showing among some difficult competition (didn't want you to think he was competing against grannies or anything!) and we are so, so proud of him!
The generous heart that he is, Dennis donated his rather large trophy to Ryan who jumped at the chance to take a nap with it. Obviously. Since there were too many sharp points to count, Ryan had to settle on having the trophy next to him, rather than in the bed with him, but you really can tell he fell asleep while looking at it. Dennis also donated his race shirt (which is rather darling) to ME!! Now I have something dri-fit to wear while running now which is pretty exciting.
Dennis has one more race in 3 weeks which our neighbor has been training to compete in as well, and that will be a perfect ending to the summer. More to come this week on our trip to the lake!
