For instance, yesterday Ryan had a gross cough so we kept him home from daycare to take him to the doctor. The doctor determined that while his condition was annoying, it was not contagious or terminal - whew! We ended up keeping him home the rest of the day anyway, so he could have a day to relax (and relax he did with an over 3 hour nap!). As he was eating his favorite lunch (pb&j), he let out a loud burp. Now, we've been working on manners with him and 90% of the time he says "excuse me" with no prompting from us. This particular time, he wasn't saying anything, so I followed up with "The Look." He then looks back at me with a smirk on his face and says......
Well how about that!
Then he erupted in a fit of laughter (as did I - covertly of course). After another "look", he excused himself properly.
The next situation happened just a little while later, also at lunch. We were talking about baby sister and how she's growing and how Ryan used to grow in Mama's belly too, until he got too big and had to keep growing at our house instead. Then the subject turned and Ryan pointed out......
Yeah, and Mama is really growing too!
Gee thanks, kid! Lunch is officially over....
