Oh Happy Day!

Today our little bumblebee turned 1!! ONE!! How can it already be one entire year since the last time I hoisted my humongous self out of bed??? Seems like just last week I swear.

We've had a few parties with family in the last few weekends (which I will update on coming up in the next few days) and it feels like his birthday has been s t r e t c h e d out to the max, so I'm really glad the day is finally here!

Anyway, we started the day with a present to open from Great Aunt Emily and her family. Ryan was fascinated with the box and we made sure to remind him that G.A. Em went to great lengths to obtain said box, and Ryan certainly made the most of it!

He had a lot of fun crawling all over the box until it was time to see what was inside!

Ta-da!! A tiger suitcase filled with all sorts of wonderful goodies! Thank you Ron, Em, K and Q!! ;)

Then we went to work (ew :/) and I left at lunch to spend the afternoon with my little birthday boy (yay!)! We took a long nap together (in our respective beds that is) and did a lot of playing with his new toys while waiting for Den to come home. When Den got home, we took Ryan to the park near our house to try out the swings which was a blast!!

At first, someone was a little tentative about his new high-flying status......

But soon, the apprehension turned to utter joy!

We then came home, opened up all of the birthday cards Ryan received in the mail and had a fun time playing with new toys before putting a completely exhausted boy to bed. If fresh air, playing and rough-housing make kids sleep the way the old wives lead me to believe, Ryan should be waking up about this time next week. ;)

All in all, it was a completely delightful day with a completely delightful boy! Happy Birthday Ryan!
