Another Brush with Fame.....

My dear husband Dennis, not to be outdone by his little pregnant wife's encounter with celebrity, met his very own famous person this past weekend. :)

Saturday night was the Annual Triathlon Banquet at St. Paul College. Dennis was nominated for Most Improved Athlete and was also able to present an award.

Well the keynote speaker for the night was three-time Olympian Hunter Kemper. We watched him clinch the last Bejing spot at the Hy-Vee triathlon in Des Moines so we were both very excited to hear what he had to say. I was really impressed when Hunter described the peace and confidence Christ gave him during his experience in Bejing - what a cool guy! After the banquet, we were able to corner (umm......have a short conversation) with him and Dennis also got a picture with him. It really made Dennis' day!

What's more, Hunter then traveled to Des Moines because he was speaking at a Hy-Vee corporate function where he ran into Dennis' sister Ellen who works in the corporate office! So it ended up being a family affair - I wonder if Hunter felt like he couldn't get away from us! :)
